Seamstress Job Description

Red Thread Company is a small batch apparel and soft goods manufacturing shop located in Donelson TN where we develop and produce a large range of products for women’s, men’s and children’s wear. We also produce a range of soft goods and accessories. 

We are seeking a skilled, detail oriented and an efficient seamstress who has experience operating industrial serger and industrial single needle. Because we work with a variety of product s, before starting each project we set time aside to organize and familiarize you with the work. 

Additional job opportunities may include product cutting, sample making, and pattern work. On site training will be provided.

General Job Duties: 

Operating an industrial 4 thread serger in a production setting

Operating industrial single needle in a production setting

Working with knit and woven fabrics 

Performing quality checks while sewing 

Performing final quality control after the garment is complete

For certain garments performing a final iron/steam press

Folding and boxing orders

Cutting production and custom orders*** 

Working on custom single time orders

Keeping and maintaining track of your work/ hours

Keeping an organized work space

End of the day keep a clean and organize work station

Skills Required 

1. Experience operating 4 thread industrial serger

2. Experience operating industrial single needle machine

3. Comfortable learning and working at a fast pace

4. Organized and willing to meet deadlines

5. Familiar with general garment construction

6. Open to learning on the job

Additional skills that are a plus:

Understands basic pattern making
